My daily dose of exploding things

Many things explode, some are meant to explode (namely explosives) and some are not (everything else). The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for instance is something not meant to explode. And you know what else is not meant to explode? Yea you're right, fans. Both behaved similarly, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as we all knew exploded rather seriously, my fan as I perfectly recalled exploded right in front of my face (literally).

The story goes like this: I had a really old wall fan that I really liked, it was there at my birth and had been keeping me cool for almost 20 years! Yea the outer shell had became yellow and the moving part were cranky but the wind from which was blown from the blades were perfect. Then I had its outer cage (the one that protects you from the blades) dismantled because the maintenance was troublesome and probably because I hated maintaining things.... Sooo for awhile the blades of the fan were completely exposed and I had realised the wind from it was stronger than before, the cage had definitely blocked some of the wind and because of its absence more wind was able to fall on my body (it was great). Then one day the fan had stopped oscillating, it had stopped stiff in an awkward angle which was not even blowing at anything but the blades still spun perfectly in their splendor. I, being a dumbass, went to find a wooden pole and in an attempt to adjust the angle of the fan without turning off the fan, had swung the whole turning arm into the wall. The blades crashed into the wall while rotating as blistering speeds....

It was only after several seconds that I finally ducked to cover my face and neck as hundreds of sharp plastic shards were shot in all angles everywhere. I expected to see blood. But then as I stood up and checked myself, I realised that I was so blessed to be fine. The fan's blade had completely vaporised from the motor, all the sharp shards were around me on the ground, on my bed, everywhere! I of course freaked out, surely I could have been easily blinded by a shot into my eye for that few seconds before I ducked but not a single piece of the blade had touched me. Truly a miracle indeed.

It wasn't like a life-changing experience for me but it's rather like a reminder that life is not a game, if something happens it happens and they have permanent effects.

Thanks for bearing through this little true story of mine, remember to stay safe guys!
